My girlfriend and I were visiting Maui for a wedding. All of the other guests stayed at the Hyatt, but we opted for this rental. Well, it turned out to be one of the best decisions we could've made. While our friends were diving in an overcrowded and over-chlorinated pool, we simply walked out to a near-secluded beach in our backyard. All of the pictures are accurate.
Also, I don't think any other reviews mentioned this, but we saw at least 5 sea turtles while snorkeling! One of which was ancient. They were all super social and friendly. In fact, we spent most of our time trying to swim AWAY from them in an attempt to avoid getting too close to them! What was supposed to be a practice snorkel to test out our gear turned out to be better than the actual snorkeling trip!
The condo was well stocked and had everything we could need to to be comfortable. This place was great and if we visit Maui again, we're totally staying here.

This was our 4th time staying at Kuleana 706. Obviously, we absolutely love the location. The pictures posted are accurate. We love waking up listening to the birds, watching for whales and turtles. We love the new furniture and new patio set for the lanai. The bed is super comfy. We love grilling while watching the sunset. We swam daily with the turtles. We also loved our excursion on the Trilogy to the island of Lanai. It was amazing to watch a whale breach so close to the boat. The Captain and crew are extremely experienced. We loved driving to the Road to Hana and going hiking. The Old Lahaina Luau is the best! We enjoyed also dining out at Mama's Fish House, Cheeseburger in Paradise and the new Mill House at the Tropical Plantation! Best weather ever! Mahalo and Cheers to Cimi as we are thrilled with the fabulous time that we had!

Our condo was great. The location was perfect. With our infant daughter, we loved that fact that we could just open the sliders and walk onto the grassy lawn, then onto the beach and into the water. We watched many turtles daily from directly in front of the condo. Although, the condo was a bit tight for 3 adults and an infant, it had all the necessities. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great location a few miles north of downtown Lahaina. It's a ground-level condo so you can walk out to the small beach just a short stones throw away. We cooked breakfast one morning and all the appliances and items we needed were there. We ate sushi from miso phat on the patio outback one night which was really nice. The king-size bed was very comfortable and the air conditioner, while loud, kept the room quite cool. The bathroom is nice and overall we were very satisfied.

The condo was exactly as described...a few steps to the water, and a great view from the condo. Saw turtles every day, and were able to snorkel right from the near-private beach. Pool was excellent too, and the property was well maintained. Property Manager was helpful when we made a request. The only down side was the loudness of the air conditioner, but we preferred to sleep in the living room and fall asleep to the ocean, so didn't bother us. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Back on Maui for our 11th wedding anniversary, we loved the location on the beach of 706 Kuleana. However we didn't get the service from the manager that we expected. Helen didn't get us a second key when requested and didn't get us help with the DVD player which we couldn't operate. Also the coffee maker wasn't clean and we ended up not using it.

My husband and I stayed at this property for 6 nights and loved every minute. The apartment and location is exactly like the photos and very quiet. I'm a clean freak and can honestly say the apartment was spotless and amenities/grounds well maintained. I would return and definitely recommend to friends and family. It was so lovely having a secluded beach right at your door step. Excellent customer service from the manager with detailed directions from the airport and handy information for our trip. Highly recommend!

The condo was exactly as described. Fairly clean and well taken care of. Location is unbelievable. When we stayed there, it was quite windy and the ocean got pretty loud, but we still enjoyed it. The sofa bed mattress in the living room is not that comfortable, but for a few days you can get over it......the rest is great. The manager is very helpful and quick to respond to answer any questions. We had a great time !

Beautiful views and just steps away from a small beach. The condo's location was perfect. The AC was just a window unit in the bedroom, so only that room was cooled. It worked out ok just kept the sliding door open when we were in the living space.

Beautiful location just steps from the beach, condo with high-end details, and wa family-friendly community. Sunsets are perfect here. It was an almost perfect stay. Only two low points, air conditioning didn't work despite telling property management and the shower was slow to drain. Air conditioning was not a big deal, we were used to humidity.

The location of this condo is ideal - just steps from the water, a private beach, and turtles popping out of the water every day! The crashing of the waves on the rocks makes for a very private feeling - it's hard to hear anyone nearby. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom. The ac in the bedroom was really helpful since the bedroom does feel a little stuffy with limited airflow. We spent our waking time on the lanai and in the living room/kitchen which allowed us to hear the waves and watch the birds and the ocean. We did see whale spouts too! Short drive to do many amazing beaches - it was a magical escape.

This was our first time at this resort and it was a perfect place to stay. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The unit was exactly as described. Ground floor, walking out to a nice grassy area and just steps from the small beach area. Lots of turtles to watch. Book this room. Now. The resort is gorgeous. The view from this room is breathtaking, and you walk out directly onto a small beach. We honestly enjoyed this beach more than any other we visited on Maui. And when you read other reviews talking about turtles, they aren't lying. There is a turtle sanctuary steps from this condo where we counted up to 20 at once! The room itself won't blow you away, but it was clean and had everything you needed so who cares! All the other owners and guests were very friendly. Overall amazing place to stay on your time in Maui.

We've stayed at several places on Maui and Kuleana 706 has the best location of them all. Not only are you just steps away from the beach but there is also a large tree directly in front of the unit that provides shade. The unit has A/C but we just left the front and back doors open to allow a nice breeze to blow through. Compared to many beaches on Maui, this one is VERY quiet. There are tons of turtles out front. Just about every day we had one or two climb up on the beach to sleep for a few hours. The bed was comfortable and the wifi was great. The property manager (Stacey) was super nice and responded to emails very quickly. We also met the owner while we were there and she too was very, very nice. Great experience overall! We will definitely be returning to Kuleana 706!

We had an absolute wonderful trip to Maui! This condo was perfect. It was very clean, well equipped, and within 10 steps of the beach!! I could not have asked for anything additional. First the noted in overall questions. Needs Improvement: Being a property owner myself, I have some suggestions: INVEST in A) more towels. We were a party of four, staying for seven days and there were only four bath towels; B) Beach towels; plastic cups/glasses (obvious reasons;) plastic wrap/aluminum foil; Coffee maker about shot, stove outdated, knives dull, visiting ants; air condition unit spit water, loud and not really ok - c'mon, 1 oz of shampoo and conditioner for four heads is not 26 inch tresses could have used that up in one shampoo! If you just remember that airlines have weight limits and comforts we take for granted are opportunities for you to shine... <3 Use a solid RENTAL AGREEMENT and SECURITY DEPOSIT. Travelers don't mind paying for a great place.

The Good: The price of this unit is hard to beat, the view is incredible, unit is nicely updated, very friendly community.
The Bad: not the best location - although it's right on the beach the waters are rough and it is tiny (we found ourselves making the 5 min drive up to Napili Bay every day), no in-unit laundry, tiny parking spaces, shower is built for people under 5ft tall, woke up with bug-bites and found small bugs in the bedroom, wi-fi does not reach the bedroom.
Overall: this is a comfortable unit if you don't plan on spending much time in/near it. Being able to enjoy the sunset right off the lanai is the best part about this property.

Location Location Location! This place is in the perfect location. There's a sandy beach with shaded areas and the snorkeling as this beach is better than the big boat snorkel tours. Kuleana 706 is ideal because the beach is just a few steps away from the patio. The condo itself was comfortable. It was the perfect size for myself and my two kids (ages 15 & 11).

The condo is comfortable and well stocked with boogie boards, beach chairs and a snorkeling set. We loved having coffee on the Lanai watching the sea turtles. It was so much fun swimming and having a beach. My husband loved grilling, watching the sunset and having conversation with others while cooking. The grounds are well kept with beautiful flowers. We loved the condo and don't think any unit there would have given us a better view with a more convenient few steps to the ocean! The pool was also very close by and other outdoor showers. The folks at Epic were super, especially Nadia and Aimyee. Had a few things we had to call about, no parking pass left in the unit and the screen door on the back patio would not lock. We found the condo to hava everything we needed for the beach and it was pretty clean except for the floors, I think the housekeeper had been sweeping them and not mopped them in a while. We hope to return this winter to see the whales.

We had a nice time at the condo and the unit is sized perfect for 2 people. Location was great with access to a beach immediately outside the back. We enjoyed snorkeling and swimming with sea turtles every day. As for the condo, it was a bit run down from all the renters. When we arrived, the air conditioning control was missing as well as the parking permit. We reported the AC issue to property manager and were told to go to the security office for the parking permit. After 2 days of never seeing anyone in the security office and getting a ticket on our rental car, we finally got a permit. Items in the kitchen were unusable - “nonstick” fry pans had burnt food adhered to it so we used the sauce pans to cook with, knives were so dull we couldn’t cut into pineapple, and other utensils that could be replaced. It was nice to see they provided beach chairs and towels to use. It was difficult keeping sand out of the condo since there was no way to clean off on the patio. Overall, the location and access to the ocean was the best part of this rental but they need to replace a number of things to make the condo more comfortable.

The proximity to the water is unbeatable. Literally steps to the beach/ocean. The turtles would come up on the sand to sleep in the early evenings, it was amazing! The unit was clean, updated, and cozy. The sofa bed is starting to wear, so it wasn’t that comfy for the kids, but the king size bed in the room was great. There is no A/C in the kitchen/living area, so it gets pretty hot in that room if the curtains are not closed. We found that we had to run the small bedroom unit and close up all the curtains in order to cool the space. The nights were much better. Overall I’m very satisfied!

We loved our time in West Maui! Our condo was absolutely perfect with direct access to wonderful grounds, the beach, and the most amazing views. The condo was stocked with everything we could have needed and more (including beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, etc). The location worked well for us, minutes from anywhere we needed to go and all the conveniences nearby. I highly recommend for a couple or even small family.

The condos are right on the beach - very very quiet and peaceful. This is not a "resort" so for those that want to listen to the ocean and not TV or music or a band or other noisy quests - this is your destination. If you want that please go to one of the high rise resorts. Pros: quiet peaceful number one comment. Walking distance (10-15 min) to food shopping, ABC, farmers market (awesome) and a town beach for more placid water. Turtles turtles everywhere. Laundry facilities on site (coin). Very nice pool, tennis courts. Recycling bins. Kitchenette is well stocked (dishes et al) and has coffee tea and some spices. Beach towels chairs and umbrella and noodles! Bed was comfortable and AC not needed if you left bedroom window and sliding glass open for cross breeze. Watching the sun rise reflected on Lanai, then watching the sun set directly in front of you was absolute perfection. Cons: Kitchen is dated but geesh - everything works so buck up. You don't need high end appliances to make coffee and chill your beer. Use the ice cube trays - they work well. Only real comment is there has been erosion to the beach as with all beaches everywhere in the world. Low tide will give you a apron of sand to relax on. Snorkeling is good but you will be better going to more protected coves. Not a big deal but temper your expectations and stay somewhere else if you want a pure calm sandy beach. You'll pay up for it.

Also, I don't think any other reviews mentioned this, but we saw at least 5 sea turtles while snorkeling! One of which was ancient. They were all super social and friendly. In fact, we spent most of our time trying to swim AWAY from them in an attempt to avoid getting too close to them! What was supposed to be a practice snorkel to test out our gear turned out to be better than the actual snorkeling trip!
The condo was well stocked and had everything we could need to to be comfortable. This place was great and if we visit Maui again, we're totally staying here.
Obviously, we absolutely love the location. The pictures posted are accurate.
We love waking up listening to the birds, watching for whales and turtles. We love the new furniture and new patio set for the lanai. The bed is super comfy.
We love grilling while watching the sunset. We swam daily with the turtles.
We also loved our excursion on the Trilogy to the island of Lanai. It was amazing to watch a whale breach so close to the boat. The Captain and crew are extremely experienced. We loved driving to the Road to Hana and going hiking. The Old Lahaina Luau is the best! We enjoyed also dining out at Mama's Fish House, Cheeseburger in Paradise and the new Mill House at the Tropical Plantation! Best weather ever! Mahalo and Cheers to Cimi as we are thrilled with the fabulous time that we had!
The sofa bed mattress in the living room is not that comfortable, but for a few days you can get over it......the rest is great.
The manager is very helpful and quick to respond to answer any questions.

Things I didn't like;
some things didn't work well (glass sliding door wouldn't latch easily and screen door wouldn't slide easily)
bedroom air conditioner was very noisy
parking is poor (spaces are 2 ft more narrow than a standard parking spot)
lots of mineral build up on shower and exterior window / glass slider
Would I stay here again? Maybe...
The Bad: not the best location - although it's right on the beach the waters are rough and it is tiny (we found ourselves making the 5 min drive up to Napili Bay every day), no in-unit laundry, tiny parking spaces, shower is built for people under 5ft tall, woke up with bug-bites and found small bugs in the bedroom, wi-fi does not reach the bedroom.
Overall: this is a comfortable unit if you don't plan on spending much time in/near it. Being able to enjoy the sunset right off the lanai is the best part about this property.

We loved having coffee on the Lanai watching the sea turtles.
It was so much fun swimming and having a beach.
My husband loved grilling, watching the sunset and having conversation with others while cooking.
The grounds are well kept with beautiful flowers. Tiki torches are lit every evening.
Pros: quiet peaceful number one comment. Walking distance (10-15 min) to food shopping, ABC, farmers market (awesome) and a town beach for more placid water. Turtles turtles everywhere. Laundry facilities on site (coin). Very nice pool, tennis courts. Recycling bins. Kitchenette is well stocked (dishes et al) and has coffee tea and some spices. Beach towels chairs and umbrella and noodles! Bed was comfortable and AC not needed if you left bedroom window and sliding glass open for cross breeze. Watching the sun rise reflected on Lanai, then watching the sun set directly in front of you was absolute perfection.
Cons: Kitchen is dated but geesh - everything works so buck up. You don't need high end appliances to make coffee and chill your beer. Use the ice cube trays - they work well. Only real comment is there has been erosion to the beach as with all beaches everywhere in the world. Low tide will give you a apron of sand to relax on. Snorkeling is good but you will be better going to more protected coves. Not a big deal but temper your expectations and stay somewhere else if you want a pure calm sandy beach. You'll pay up for it.
