it has everything you want . Ocean ,pool.restaurants,and quiet neighbors .
The pool was fantastic with for massive gas grills for cooking.
My brother and I had a great time.I preferred it over a large high end hotel in Kohala !
Good amenities, close to town and a view worth every penny.
- great location, walking distance to most of the stores and restaurants in Kailua-Lona.
- Condo building has a nice pool and hot tub. Great place to be after a long flight from the mainland.
- absolutely awesome view of the ocean. beautiful breeze from lanai. We saw whales and other sea life.
Negatives:
- Maintenance- broken drawers, broken shower door, old kitchen appliances, etc.
- Small condo with inefficient layout. The dresser and TV are in the closet which limits space.
- Furniture is not super comfortable.
Conclusion:
Awaesome location and view, but there are probably better units in this same condo development.
Good size and comfortable. Fully equipped with all we needed. Getting a bit run down. I would go with D33 next time due to recent renovation there.
The Lanai is right on the beach which was very enjoyable.
The Royal Kona is just a 5 minute walk north of the condo. We partook of their luau & lunch @ beachside restaurant.
In fact many restaurants easily walkable from the condo[20 minutes].
The pool & jacuzzi were top notch @ the condo.
We enjoyed the washer/dryer @ the condo. Nice to return home with clean clothes.
I would definitely rent again if I return to the Big Island.
The condo complex is very quiet @ nite; conducive to a good night sleep
Condo is waterfront so not only did we enjoy hearing the ocean we viewed amazing views out on the lanai. We were very comfortable as Annie has well appointed the condo with amenities. The kitchen has nice with working appliances and we ate most of our meals in. It's in a great location and and we walked on foot to nice shops and restraunts. There's a great farmers market where we got our fruits, veggies, etc. Annie has all beach gear and We used the cooler, and chairs at the beach. The Kona reef grounds has a nice barbecue area, pool and grass area near the water. We so appereciated our stay. Thank you Annie!
Nice unit !
The owner has decorated with great flair, and used mirrors to give a feeling of spaciousness to a small unit. The mirrors work well, the decor less so. The furniture in the bedroom is bulky, lots of silk plants, and must be hard to clean around. Finding outlets was a challenge, and there are too many extension cords for comfort.
And don't expect many ADA type aids--there are no safety bars in the shower, for instance, and the elevator stops a half a floor below the fourth floor, leaving 10 or 12 steps to wrestle up with luggage. Pack light if you stay here.
Booking and service overlapped for us among the owner, VRBO (which charged a hefty booking fee), and Knutson management, which takes care of cleaning and providing keys. We felt pretty much on our own so far as getting in and leaving, and never actually met either the owner or the manager, although the woman at the agency was helpful. It all worked, however. You sign a lease with all the normal warnings and caveats.
All in all we had a great week in Kona and enjoyed where we were. D32 will grow on you, and you can't beat the views and location.
