Can't beat the view from the lanai. Loved relaxing out there and looking out over the water. Got better views of whales sitting on the lanai than on an actual whale watching boat tour.
Location is close enough to Kona to be convenient to town and the airport, yet just far enough out to be a quiet and calm escape.
The place was well maintained, spacious, and had just about everything we needed.

Great rental. Spacious. Beautiful view. Beds are comfortable. There is A/C which is not in all units at the condo complex. Kitchen is well equipped. Indoor and outdoor dining seating. Beach chairs, coolers, snorkel gear, beach towels included. Would recommend to friends! Only downsides were that the showers downstairs did not have adequate water flow and it was a bit of a drive from downtown Kona (however most attractions on the Big Island require driving.

The views are fantastic and unit super clean and well fairly appointed. Blake ( host) responsive to TV and upper air conditioner issues..... although we did not want maintenance to work on the unit while we were there, the air conditioner in upper bedroom is quite loud. Lots of stairs in and getting to unit, thus not suggested for those that have walking difficulties. Stairs to upper bedroom quite steep and narrow with only partial handrail. Not a problem for us, though.

We really enjoyed our stay. The condominium was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and furnished, and included plenty of clean and nearly new recreational equipment for the pool and ocean. They even included binoculars and the latest versions of two popular guidebooks for the Big Island.
We also appreciated being within walking distance of stores and restaurants, and being just a short drive from Kona itself. And we had to drive no more than half an hour to visit the best snorkeling sites on the island.
This was the best stay of our five trips to the Big Island. We will definitely return here.

Fantastic stay at KKSRC5303 as usual. I think this was our fifth stay in this unit. It was comfy. Had everything we needed. Lots of beach gear. And the sweetest little beach to go with it! The view of the ocean remains one of the most amazing aspects of this rental unit; it is like being on an ocean liner! We have seen whales, boats, tropical fish, and the Green Flash from our lanai. Beds are fine. Kitchen is good. We don't like AC so we use the open windows and the fans but a good AC system is available now if you prefer. There is a heavenly breeze coming from the ocean most of the time; we actually had to close off the sliders a couple of nights because it became too cool for our skimpy PJs. This condo always feels like we are coming home. Thanks to Blake and the Knutson team for their ongoing responsiveness... Mahalo!

Super upscale furnishings (like solid Koa wood) and recent remodel (new paint, etc). You're just steps from the surf breaking on the rocks. Super comfortable. Great location. The upstairs A/C make buzzing sound, needs repair. The walls are paper-thin, neighbors complained of TV noise, which to us was normal level (we turned it WAY down - our hearing is very good).

Property was great and the view was awesome. Nice to have the AC in the evening. Plenty of beach stuff (which we added too), well stocked and comfortable. It's the furthest from the parking and the cable upstairs wouldn't work on the upstairs tv. Definitely worth the stay.

The whole process was seamless start to finish. Such a beautiful condo inside in a fantastic location. All of the amenities you need for a Hawaii vacation and within 20 minutes of so many great things, including many within walking distance. The property itself is fantastic and very welcoming. Cool coming around the holiday season and seeing the area decorated for Christmas with lights all over the palm trees and etc. Can’t wait to come back.

Ocean front and air conditioned, this condo was everything we hoped it would be- the views front and back are breathtaking and the sound of waves crashing on the lava coastline create the sense of being part of a meditation video. We originally had booked prior to COVID and had to cancel. Knutson and Associates were most helpful and assistive in carrying over our vacation plans until this year. The property is very comfortable and very clean. All needed amenities to serve as a hub to explore the Big Island or just stay and do nothing. Only downside was lack of A/C but there were plenty of fans to move air at night to stay cool.

We had a great stay in Kona at this rental. When we arrived there were a few cleaning and supply issues that were promptly attended to by the rental company. The condo is an older one, but this didn't bother us as we spent little time in it! The location is great. We thought it was very thoughtful the rental company sent over a basket of fruit, quite unexpected!

This condo was the most gorgeous VRBO I've ever booked. It was luxuriously appointed and the top floor lanai was 25ft from the surf looking west for sunset. Lying in our King bed in the loft, I could literally see the ocean through the glass railing. There were lots of extras for snorkeling, tennis, a cooler, umbrellas and many other niceties that just make the stay better for those traveling light. The complex was lovely with tennis, pool, grass vball court and easy parking. Close to the grocery and access to everywhere! I want to come back some day and stay longer!

Rental was clean, well maintained and right on the ocean. The overall property was beautiful. This was our first stay in Kona. Very close to shopping and great restaurants. We utilized the pool and tennis courts. Rental was very spacious and quiet. They sent us new towels and pillows while we were there. We liked it so much, we just booked again for later this year!

We have stayed at this unit three times and love it like a second home. It is very comfy and is well equipped. although a bit older than some condos we have visited, it has such a sweet ambience.... lovely Hawaiian decor... and the most fabulous view of the ocean and sunsets! Our definite first choice for a stay in the Keauhou area. Knutson and Blake Kessner are very easy to work with also.

The spacious 2 bedroom unit was a wonderful place for our family of 4. The condo is decorated with great local Hawaiian artwork. The lanai and its furnishings were great for watching the ocean, waves and amazing sunsets. The unit has some beach equipment which was very useful for our many days spent exploring all the island treasures. The location is close to downtown Kona and the Keauhou shopping centre so handy for groceries, shaved ice and the best pizza (Bianelli's). We highly recommend this property for your Big Island stay.

It was an amazing experience. Scenery was spectacular. Unit was spotless and fully equipped. It was near to town, shopping, beaches. All people were very friendly. Staff were great. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property. We were there for two weeks and while the fans were fine for most nights a couple of nights an air conditioner would have helped with the heat.

This top floor unit at the Keauhou/Kona Surf & Racquet Club in Building #5 was breathtaking! Comfy, clean, well-stocked with good furniture and bedding plus beautifully decorated with the Island theme. Quiet and serene. The real high point of the stay in this condo was the view over the ocean. Truly amazing with big surf and wild "blow holes" right there off the lanai but the top floor gave wonderful long views as well. You could see big fish in the waters using the binoculars and sitting right at the table drinking your morning coffee. Gorgeous grounds. Fun beach with its own petroglyphs. This is probably the best Hawaiian rental unit that we have ever had. It is difficult to pick which is the best feature of this rental. The rental is huge and the lanai faces West for amazing sunsets almost every night. At night, the lanai is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sparkling lights of downtown Kailua Kona. On those days when the ocean is rough, there are spectacular visions of the waves crashing into rocks below. The interior of the rental is superbly decorated with local art, pottery and furnishings. The kitchen appears to have recently renovated, and comes fully equipped. There was nothing we had to go out and buy other than food. The two bedrooms were extremely comfortable. The king sized beds were a bonus as so many rentals have queen sized beds. Both bedrooms have flat screen TVs, but the bonus TV is in the living area. It has to be at least 60". The grounds are extremely well kept. The newly upgraded pool is ideal for all except divers, as there is no diving. The three tennis courts are in perfect shape and well lite so you can play into the coolness of the evening. Our dealing with the property manager Blake was smooth and helpful. In fact Blake dropped by shortly after we checked in, to explain the lighting system, and answering our questions. A very nice touch. Based on these two weeks in this property, we have no concerns in recommending this property to someone who is looking for a vacation beyond your usual Hawaii stay.

The condo location offered a ton of privacy being on the end (last building)! With specular ocean views RIGHT out on the lanai! Morning coffee never will never be the same again! The condo was clean, and would be 100% perfection but for a few small things - ice maker didn't work, the walls could use a clean down and rust on the kitchen shade blemished an otherwise beautiful kitchen. It was awesome to have use of a cooler, pool toys, lawn chairs, and boogie boards! Our friends who stayed at the Sheridan were very jealous of our condo! We would definitely stay here again and HIGHLY recommend it!

Had a great stay at unit 5303. Everthing including the checkin and check out was seamless. The view from the deck and sound of the waves was soothing to say the least.
Although there was no aircon there was a nice breeze off the ocean that kept us comfortable through the night. There are far to many pro's to mention about this unit and the only con was the very early mowers on the golf course were annoying to say the least.

We loved staying at this condo! I spent most of my time sitting on the lanai relaxing and watching the waves hit the rocks. Kona is just a short trip away, and it's easy to kick off trips to all parts of the island from here.
The condo is well appointed and has everything you need. There's even an appletv for when you need some down time!
One warning: there's no A/C, but there are plenty of fans to keep you cool. It does get a bit humid in there during the day, but we were out and about for the most part so it didn't matter much.

This top floor unit was overall very nice and much enjoyed for 2 weeks. It is in building 5 with wonderful oceanfront view plus view of golf course & mountain from back bedroom. It gets 4/5 because of too many minor problems and needing a deep cleaning. Plastic mattress cover caused sheets to slip off corners and lump up every night. No cleaning supplies or broom. Unsafe rusted beach chair. No towel rack in bathroom with washer/dryer. Kitchen poorly cleaned and icemaker/water dispenser not working. Trapped a mouse in kitchen and saw large numbers of rodent droppings in outside entry area. No information/instruction book from owners with a few scattered appliance instruction manuals. We didn't like mgmt's request that we give it a 5/5 rating in spite of problems as that totally defeats the purpose of these reviews. We would stay here again hoping for improvement as we love the location.

This rental unit was in a perfect location. The ocean on one side and a golf course on the other. Unit 5 is the most desired unit in the complex. It’s quiet and has the best view. The room had everything we needed for our stay. Did I mention the view? Wow!!! We spent every morning sipping coffee on our linai looking at the ocean. We even saw a couple of humpback whales one day.

We stayed in this unit for one day last year while the unit we requested was getting ready. Unit was wonderful updated and quiet and loved leaving the ocean facing sliders open to fall asleep listening to the waves crashing on the rocks. Only negative was the ice maker still didn't work. There was a note stating they didn't make the part anymore. As a retired plumber for 35 years, I know they make "universal" ice makers for almost any refrigerator. I replaced them all the time! Looking forward to coming back to the Surf & Racket in the future. thank you

Location is close enough to Kona to be convenient to town and the airport, yet just far enough out to be a quiet and calm escape.
The place was well maintained, spacious, and had just about everything we needed.
We also appreciated being within walking distance of stores and restaurants, and being just a short drive from Kona itself. And we had to drive no more than half an hour to visit the best snorkeling sites on the island.
This was the best stay of our five trips to the Big Island. We will definitely return here.
It's the furthest from the parking and the cable upstairs wouldn't work on the upstairs tv. Definitely worth the stay.
The interior of the rental is superbly decorated with local art, pottery and furnishings. The kitchen appears to have recently renovated, and comes fully equipped. There was nothing we had to go out and buy other than food.
The two bedrooms were extremely comfortable. The king sized beds were a bonus as so many rentals have queen sized beds. Both bedrooms have flat screen TVs, but the bonus TV is in the living area. It has to be at least 60".
The grounds are extremely well kept. The newly upgraded pool is ideal for all except divers, as there is no diving. The three tennis courts are in perfect shape and well lite so you can play into the coolness of the evening.
Our dealing with the property manager Blake was smooth and helpful. In fact Blake dropped by shortly after we checked in, to explain the lighting system, and answering our questions. A very nice touch.
Based on these two weeks in this property, we have no concerns in recommending this property to someone who is looking for a vacation beyond your usual Hawaii stay.
Although there was no aircon there was a nice breeze off the ocean that kept us comfortable through the night. There are far to many pro's to mention about this unit and the only con was the very early mowers on the golf course were annoying to say the least.
The condo is well appointed and has everything you need. There's even an appletv for when you need some down time!
One warning: there's no A/C, but there are plenty of fans to keep you cool. It does get a bit humid in there during the day, but we were out and about for the most part so it didn't matter much.
