The unit was more than large enough for our family of four. Very comfortable and functional.
Only comment would be that the kitchen, though functional, is a bit dated and worn.
The unit was super clean when we arrived, and had a helpful binder with everything we’d need to know about the property and places in the area.
It had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which was great for our family.
It was also close to anything and everything on the Kailua-Kona coast. Most drives under 15 minutes!
And, silly as it sounds, it was right across the road from a little strip mall that had places we frequented. It had a great coffee and crepe shop (Peaberry and Galette), a made-by-hand pizza place, and a Long’s Drugs that we visited frequently for last-minute items we needed.
2 minutes drive or 9 minutes walk to the Kahalu’u Beach Park, which is a good snorkeling spot for the beginner. There are so many fishes that it's like you swim in the aquarium. It's also shallow and safe if it's not high tide.
There is one tip to use the washer machine. You have to wait for a while before the water is filled in after pressing the button. Initially I thought the washer machine has problem.
I found the place on airbnb, but when searching the reviews of the place name, I find the booking link in the Knutson & Associates Property. It's a couple of hundreds cheaper than booking through airbnb for one week. I took the risk to book from the Knutson & Associates Property website directly and luckily it turns out it's a smooth experience.
The team at Knutson we truly exceptional, checking in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. They even accommodated our early check-in request, so we were able to get into the rental a few hours early!
We would absolutely return to this lovely spot. It is close to magic sands beach and areas south of Kailua-Kona, and a quick ride into the town for great food options. Falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean was unforgettable.
We are very much looking forward to returning to the big island and would 100% recommend this unit for any families. We were a family of four, and the 2nd bedroom was perfect for our two daughters.
The unit is outfitted with a ton of gear for the ocean - boogie boards, beach umbrellas, snorkeling equipment and even some tennis rackets!!!

View of the sunset was amazing! washer an
d dryer was very useful! New appliances and everything you could possibly want in the kitchen! Grounds were fragrant air filled with plumeria while you walked to and from the condo , geckos a plenty :)

Property was clean and well equipped. Appreciated some initial supplies on hand, and also availability of soap, detergent, sponge.
Would be useful to provide info on local shops, Safeway, restaurants. Lots nearby but took us a bit to discover it!
No directions on site for use of TV or music and could not figure them out -- some guidance would be helpful. Similarly guidance on what to recycle and where useful if one is not from Hawaii.
Problems with drains in both bathrooms -- this is something that should be monitored regularly.
Towel racks in master bath were loose (one fell off and broke) -- again not a big deal but cosmetic touchups would enhance the place.
Primary concern was bugs and occasional cockroach in kitchen -- I know this is Hawaii, but better bug traps and advice on how to manage would be helpful. Just needed to be very attentive to keeping the kitchen clean!
Despite these things we had a great vacation and liked the place a lot, and would highly recommend it -- could just use a bit more attention from the owner for guests. Blake from rental company was helpful.
