Situated in the Carmel Meadows area on the south end of Carmel along a secluded stretch of Carmel Bay with easy access to Ribera Beach, this 6 bedroom, 7.5 bath architectural masterpiece offers outstanding panoramic views of the ocean and nearby Point Lobos.
Designed by acclaimed architect Daniel Piechota, who notably apprenticed with Mickey Muenning as a contributing architect for Post Ranch Inn. Exposed concrete walls, breath-taking wooden ceiling and walls of glass windows set this 8,300 sf home apart.
Living Spaces
Enter on the upper level and descend the first of two impressive staircases to reach the main level. The grand entrance with its soaring barrel-vaulted ceiling of Alaskan Yellow Cedar and towering walls of glass framing breathtaking views of the Point Lobos coastline make for the perfect setting for the open concept living and dining rooms. Two gas fireplaces are available to add ambience on cool nights.
A lower-level, sunken family room has a TV, library and access to the back patio area.
Also on the lower level is a Theater Room with a large projection screen and reclining sofas lined up on two levels. A nearby wet bar with ice maker, microwave and toaster oven is the perfect place to grab some snacks during the intermission.
Kitchen and Dining
The immaculate gourmet kitchen is set up for entertaining in style with a handsome paneled refrigerator with four separate freezer drawers, two islands, 2 sinks, a 6 burner stove top with grill and griddle features, double ovens and two warming drawers, not to mention another fridge out in the garage.
An adjacent large round dining table seats 8+ and all these spaces enjoy panoramic ocean views through paneless floor-to-ceiling windows.
The upper level deck has a view like no other and is full of lounge chairs that will draw you outside.
A convenient half-bath is located near the upper level living spaces.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
On the main living level, Bedroom #1 is a primary suite which shares the same west-facing stunning view and can be transformed into a cozy private escape with sliding doors. The suite contains a fireplace, an expansive closet and his and her bathrooms with showers. Also inside the suite is a workspace with a desk, desk chair and a twin daybed perfect for naps or a sleeping option for a child.
Step out onto the small, protected courtyard near the kitchen to find the propane BBQ grill, a bistro table and two chairs, and find the separate entrance to two bedrooms.
Bedrooms #2 and #3 each have a king bed and access to a Jack and Jill style bathroom with shower-over-soaking tub.
Head downstairs using an opulent staircase to find the theater room, family room and more bedrooms.
Bedrooms #4 and #5 sit on opposite sides of the family room. They each have a king bed and an en suite bathroom with shower. Bedroom #5 has a TV.
Bedroom #6 has a queen bed, a bunk bed (twin up, twin down) and a separate twin bed with an optional pull-out trundle for a total of four twin beds, all suitable for children, and an en suite bathroom with a shower.
A full bathroom with a shower-over-tub combination is located near the theater room and the dedicated laundry room with washer, dryer and a utility sink.
Carmel River Beach Trail access is directly out thru the back gate.
Over-sized two-car garage has two electric vehicle (Tesla EV) chargers, an extra refrigerator and space for storing bikes, golf clubs, etc.
Off-street parking is available in the driveway for several cars.
