Description
Welcome to the largest and best family property on Balboa Island available for weekly and nightly rentals. Built in 1920 and belonging to the same family for almost 100 years, this newly renovated and decorated, spectacular 5 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom, South Bayfront home sits on the widest point of Newport Harbor with stunning harbor channel views down to Corona Del Mar and the Balboa Pavilion. When you walk into the first level of the home you are welcomed by the newly remodeled kitchen with fresh white cabinets, stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. There is an island with four bar stools perfect for a small lunch gathering in the kitchen or a larger dining table area next to the living room. The downstairs living room and dining area are a single space that is surrounded by windows that reach from the floor to the ceiling, taking in every view that Newport Harbor has to offer. Then walk out onto the large patio and enjoy the good life!
A set of the living room windows are sliding glass doors that open up to the front patio. This stunning front patio is fully equipped with comfortable lounging furniture and a stainless steel gas BBQ grill. It is the perfect spot to grill up some burgers and drink a cocktail while enjoying the sight of the boats cruising by.
The first bedroom is located downstairs with a queen sized bed and close access to a full bathroom with a walk in shower. There is also another half bathroom on the first level.
On the second level of the home there are two bedrooms that could both be considered master bedrooms with king sized beds and master bathrooms inside of them. There are two other bedrooms perfect for another couple with a queen sized bed and another great for children or additional guests containing a bunk bed with a twin sized mattress on top and full on the bottom.These two bedrooms share access to another bathroom.
Towards the bayfront you will find the second living room which is perfectly set for hanging out with the wet bar, comfortable couches, cozy chairs and game table area. This living room is also surrounded by windows that reach from the floor to the ceiling giving you that stunning view of the harbor from all levels of the home!! Located at the end of Marine Avenue, you are truly steps away from all of the best shops and restaurants that Balboa Island provides. We only had one issue. Previous renters filled the garbage cans, and they weren't emptied for 5 days. We called the property management company, and they weren't helpful. Told us to store in garage. Not fun with diapers!
The house is beautiful and so big!! The kids loved playing on the bay. We even got to use the kayaks and stand up paddle boards. We will try to come back every year.
Three of us were bit during the night....don't know by what, maybe spider bites. On Friday nite before we left a cockroach sped across the floor in the bedroom I slept in (with the TV) and we packed up at 10pm and left. Once again, (for the second year in a row) the cleaning crew showed up at 4pm and we didn't get in till just before 6. You shouldn't put 4pm as a check in time. Please See the shower mat in the shower in the bathroom adjoining the bedroom with the TV and toss it. It was disgusting. I suggest you have the house tented in the off season for pests. I wanted it to be perfect for the price we paid.......
The property management made it so easy to book and check in. Everything is automated and you can even download a phone app.

This rental was the nicest that we have stayed in. The location was perfect and the house was fantastic. The owner was there when we arrived and was very helpful in getting us settled. She also had great stories about the house..
The rental agency was also very professional and quick to respond to problems that we encountered.
The house was very well equipped and a joy to stay in. Hopefully, we can return someday..
